Max Benjamin, LSIT/EIT
Assistant Surveyor
Max joined NorthStar in May 2024, bringing a unique blend of experience and passion to the team. Originally from Springfield, MA, he earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rochester. His journey into surveying began after witnessing the critical rebuilding efforts following the 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, California. Max moved to Northern California to be with his wife and has since embraced the region as home. Prior to joining NorthStar, he gained valuable experience at another land surveying firm and was attracted to NorthStar’s commitment to professional development.
Max quickly made his mark at NorthStar, joining during the height of construction season and immediately immersing himself in a variety of high-profile projects. His portfolio includes construction staking for developments like the Enloe Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bar Triangle Apartments, the Berry Creek Fire Station, and Seneca Hospital. He is also involved in design projects, collaborating with the civil engineering team on topographic surveys for schools and civic infrastructure. Max thrives on the diversity of his work, enjoying the challenges of problem-solving in the field and the collaboration with clients, contractors, and engineers.
Outside of work, Max loves spending time with his growing family and finds balance by pursuing his personal interests, including cooking, guitar, mountain biking and photography. Though he’s serious about his career, Max also embraces his fun side through stand-up and improv comedy, both as a performer and a fan. This creative outlet keeps him energized and brings a fresh perspective to his work.
